The Isle of Man travelled to Edinburgh in Early April to play in an under 13s Invitations Counties Tournament. The Isle of Man team players were Charlie Bovenizer, Adam Colly, Thomas Deuchars, Aiden McMahon, Isla Crooks, Jessica Li, Philippa Li and Megan Sands. 

On Saturday 3^rd April, the players competed in an individual singles tournament with Adam finishing in a very respectable 9^th place, Charlie was 15^th, Aiden in 22^nd and Thomas 23^rd. In the Girls Singles competition Jessica came 5^th, Isla was 6^th, Philippa was 8^th and Megan was 15^th.

The Team tournament on Sunday saw the Isle of Man playing Northumberland in their first match with the Island winning 6/4 with wins for Charlie and Jessica in their singles, Aiden and Thomas in the boys doubles, Isla and Aiden in their mixed and both sets of girls doubles.

The second match was against the favourites, Lothian A, who duly won 10/0.

The final match in the pool was against Lanarkshire which turned out to be a very close affair with the Isle of Man losing out 4/6. Notable wins were Jessica in her singles, both sets of girls doubles and a very close mixed doubles which Isla and Aiden won 22/20.

The results of these 3 matches placed the Isle of Man in the second pool with teams from Scottish Borders and Northumberland. The match with the Borders saw the Isle of Man wining all four singles, 1 boys doubles and both sets of girls doubles and taking the match 7/3. The Isle of Man team were now fully into their stride with tactics resolved and enthusiasm brimming over.

The final match of the competition was once again against Northumberland whom the team had beaten in the first round. This time the Isle of Man players surpassed their previous score winning the match 8/2. There were some incredibly close games with Charlie winning his singles in 24, Philippa winning her singles in 22, Jessica and Philippa winning their doubles in 22. The whole Isle of Man team showed real determination and all played very well, without exception.

The isle of Man finished 5^th out of a field of 8 with Lothian ‘A’ winning overall.
